I posted a bunch of free stuff on craigslist for my Mom this morning.
This website has been a godsend for me over the past two years. I figure the stuff isn’t going to the dump and people who are truly needy can have things for free. Today I received a total of six e-mails from a certain person. This is the last one. If you were in my shoes, what, if anything, would you respond?

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
WITH FUEL AT $ 2.75 T0 $3.00 A GAL
AND POSSIBILY 10 TO 100 PEOPLE WASTING FUEL TO TRY TO BE THERE FIRST
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE !!!”

You know, some people you just have to ignore. I have visited Craigslist myself and have found that there are certain people who I think do nothing else but go around and try to cause trouble or push people’s buttons. And I believe they are truly cowards, hiding behind the anonymity of being able to say something with no one knowing who they are. I would think it would be local people who respond and therefore wouldn’t have to drive far and you can always go one by one until you get rid of all the stuff. But whatever you decide, don’t let what is obviously someone trying to push your buttons, get under your skin. The best response, in my opinion, is no response.

Someone like you is probably right, but Jane did make me laugh. This person sent me three more e-mails today. I still want to respond. I can’t help it. And what’s up with all the e-mails being in all caps? They are shouting at me in my own inbox. Fuckers.

yes, put them on ignore. I got an email from someone yesterday telling me she’d “always heard I was a bitch” and thus didn’t expect me to answer her. I responded to the question part of her email and ignored the bitch part, but it did make me feel sorta bad. Mean people suck.

It sounds as if that woman was using reverse psychology to get you to respond. Don’t feel bad. I have never gotten the impression that you are a bitch. I don’t think I could have ignored the bitch comment.
