Hi Heather!
I am glad that you saw it. I was going to email it to you with a thank you note today. My son loves your book.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Tammy

It always makes me particularly happy when boys like my work.

Given my sensibilities, it should be obvious that that’s not because I don’t think girls need the information, but simply because it can be harder to draw boys into it and keep their interest when it’s education and not sheerly sexual entertainment — and boys need it just as much as girls. So, when I manage that, it really pleases me.

(FYI, I’ve been considering making an offer to folks within distances I can get to to go ahead and do home-hosted sex ed gab sessions for teens and/or parents, so if you’ve interest in organizing anything like that in OR, let me know!)

I have an amazingly open relationship with my son. It makes me very happy that we can talk openly about sex, but I am not silly enough to think that he will feel free to ask me anything, or that I will provide him with every necessary piece of information.
The approach that I took with your book was to show it to him, tell him he could read it if he wanted to, and then I just sat it down where he could easily pick it up. Sure enough it ended up in his room:)
Your gabfest idea sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately I am something of a loner and I don’t know if I could pull together enough people to make it worth your while.
Is there any chance that you might be promoting your book here in Portland? I would love to come and see you.
In Other Words might be a good bookstore to promote your book.

Or maybe Powell’s?
