to have gone missing for so long. I have been working constantly, as two of my fellow bakers have gone on vacation, and another one is slated to leave next week. Everything here is otherwise fine. I am just tired and feeling as if I have no life, but I can’t turn down the hours and I am sure it won’t be like this forever.
Meanwhile, tell me a little about yourself in the comments, if you’d like. Some of you have kindly emailed me and introduced yourselves. Others I have yet to meet. Or, if you don’t want to write about yourself, tell a joke, or tell me about something you cooked lately that was scrumptious, or something you did that was fun, or something you bought that was cool. Anything is fine. And I didn’t understand Bonnie’s comment either. Bonnie?

I don’t usually de-lurk at all, so *deep breath*, here we go!
I’m a 27 year old government consultant, happily paired up with a great guy for the past 8 years. I’m well medicated, which always results in a happier girl. I like baseball, food, and reading.

Alrighty….
While having a colonoscopy YEARS ago when I was in my mid-twenties, I was asked if the intern could observe. I said no. He stayed anyway. I was pizzed but the drugs mellowed me out enough to make a joke…
“Why is your stool tapered at the end?”
“so your a-hole doesn’t slam shut”
It made them laugh.
I used to foster future assistance dog puppies. Out of the six and 1/12 I raised, one became an assistance dog, one became a hearing dog, one became a guide dog and one became a police dog.
If you ever get a chance to fly in a hot air balloon…do it! When I did it we surprised a couple who were making love in the open trunk of a huge car. It’s amazing how the sound rises…you can hear conversations from WAY up that you would never hear from the same distance on the ground.
My hobby is gardening . We have the yard that people stop their cars to see. We also love watching our bird feeders. The yellow finches are my favorites.
My other hobby is watching live murder trials on the internet. I watched one a while back where a guy poisoned his wife with antifreeze. He and the woman he was having an affair with had a game of sorts. They collected over 2000 penis pictures and each had notations comparing HIS penis with the ones in the pictures.
I am addicted to juice. Cranberry is my favorite with orange a close second.

Glad to know all is well. Working sucks sometimes, doesn’t it? Even if we like what we do, it just takes up too much of our precious time.
You know about me, I think, so no comments on that. A joke? I never remember them….ever. Scrumptious cooking? hahahahahahaha
Haven’t bought anything lately other than 2 new tires. Yawn.
Something I did for fun? Ummmmmm……actually, I try to make time each and every day for fun, whether that be something small like laughing with my husband until tears run down by face or taking a walk with a friend and having a great conversation that runs all over the place.
Hope to see you back soon! You owe us a beautiful story or two!

Geez, I still had your URL in my “favorites” thingie online and I’ve been largely absent from the online fun world (as opposed to the online work world) for an eon………..so it was wonderful to check in after all this time and not only find you here, but find more exquisite posts!
I love reading. And am so glad you are still writing.
Hmmmm…….your questions……..
I seem to be in a non-cooking phase that’s hanging on for years now. Wonder if that’ll eventually change? I’m LOVING eating really ripe, cut-up mangoes mixed in Fage yogurt, with just a wee tiny bit of sugar and cardamom added to give it a little zing.
I bought the cutest/funniest box of ittie bittie baby socks — all striped in different, bright colors — for my daughter, who is going to have her first baby (a boy!) in early December.
And fun? What’s that? I’m doing the new millenium equivalent of pounding the pavement (spending hours on the internet) looking for a job these days. Sigh.
Great to see you again, Tammy!

Well, mine is LAME, but asparagus is in season so here goes:
Cut the bottom 3 inches or so off the ends of your bunch.
Lay them all out on a cookie sheet.
Drizzle olive oil, sea salt and pepper on them, and turn them so they get evenly coated.
Roast in at 400 for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Really, seriously, to fucking die for.

Ask and ye shall receive:
Something about me: I make kick-ass, eat the whole loaf in one sitting, zucchini bread. People who never would eat zucchini bread, let alone look at it, have come to me after trying it and asked for the recipe because it was “awesome and will you make more of it?” My secret . . . peel the zucchini before you grate it and add raisins to the recipe. Mmmm good. I’ll send you some if you’d like . . just ask
Something fun I did recently: Went to Comerica Park in Detroit to see the Tigers play Chicago White Sox. Tje Tigers lost, but it was still a great time.
Something I recently bought: An iTouch, which is basically an iPhone without the phone and camera part. I’m still trying to figure the thing out, but loving it so far.
Something I like about your journal/blogging site/insert whatever hip word of the moment to describe this place: Your honesty and how you paint vivid pictures of your life in so many colors and dimensions. Besides, us wimmen’s with third-shifter husbands have to stick together.

Sometimes I read you, sometimes I don’t.. I just happened to check in today.
I’m a 21 year old college student who is majoring in Digital Arts. I like to read blogs because.. I like to read but really struggle with books a lot. I’m kinda picky about them. I’m going to be a senior this year in college and hope to graduate with some honors if I can swing it. I doubt it, but I’ve been on dean’s list numerous times.
I run a couple of Role-Playing Games and I enjoy video games. I love the paranormal, UFOs, government conspiracies, astronomy, physics and the Goo Goo Dolls (I really want to see them in concert!). I used to be a Hanson Fan and still kinda am. I have two betta fish, Calcifer and Oyakata as well my family having three cats (Oliver, Synders and Samantha) and a Papillon, Kirby.
Um.. it looks like I might have twins if I have children (Lovely), I have about $30,000 in debt from schooling, I’m blind in my left eye and I stutter. :3 I like to read you.. because you remind me a lot of myself and reading about similar feelings is helping me cope with my own feelings and situations.
