I am an excellent caregiver for others, but I stink at caring for me.

Boy do I know how that is! And, my dear young lady, that should be #1 on your list - start taking care of "me". It doesn't come easy or quickly, so plod along, even if it means taking baby steps.

Overall, OFFB (Im gonna steal that!)looks like a winner of a list. Here's hoping you have a wonderful holiday season. Warm hugs and wishes sent your way!

You are never too late here Cynthea, you are just in time. I like that thought about assertiveness. I get so angry sometimes, hold it all inside, and it just turns into more depression, and regret. I believe and long for release.

Merry Christmas from me...Thanks for being here.

Damn! Too late to get the feedback.

I REALLY like your list. Number 7 is a doozy. The guilt, the guilt. I heard that assertiveness was the ability to say no without waiting to get angry.

Have a lovely Christmas.

Hi Wilma! And welcome to my site. I am glad that you commented. The day of the week pill holder is a great idea (Thank you also to Denise, and hello to you as well!). I actually think that I have one around, somewhere in this house. I can remember my Mom giving me one when my children were little and being nervous about using it because it wasn't child proof. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore, so I will look for it.

Hi Thursday. I am glad that you are fine. I am feeling determined to not be the person who always feels like she's headed for a nervous breakdown but never does a thing about it. Hopefully I can stay on track with this. I am an excellent caregiver for others, but I stink at caring for me.

Hi K. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. Working full time has always been a struggle for me since I had children. I can never seem to juggle it all and I end up letting things slip, big time. That's where the learning to let some things go will come in handy.

As for the losing 20 lbs.; I didn't even try. Apparently not drinking such copious quantities of beer and liquor has a slimming effect. Who knew?

Step 2.1: Get a days of the week pillbox so you can tell if you've taken your meds or not.

I think your list is great.

I also think it's quite fantastic the way you've gone back to work. It must feel good to be so productive.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

I'm fine and it sounds like you have more determination than I've shown of late.

hi...first time commenter--i love your blog!! congrats re the 20 lbs--that's really amazing. as for remembering to take your meds, this sounds super old person-ish, but have you maybe thought about using those little plastic dispensers with the days of the week on them & a little plastic box for each day? that way you would always know whether you had taken your meds--either they would be there, or not! good luck, and pls ignore my assvice if you want--i always am unsure about suggesting things on people's blogs--because i don't know what their lives are like, what they've tried, what works for them, etc., but you seem really nice...so i went for it :) good luck & happy holidays.
